Governor Alia said he was in Wukari with the full Benue State Government team to strengthen collaboration with Taraba State in confronting insecurity.

He noted that as neighbouring states facing similar threats, there was an urgent need for synergy to restore peace and guarantee the safety of lives and property.

He commended the Aku Uka for his contributions to peace-building efforts within the state and across the country, stressing that engagement with traditional rulers remains critical to achieving sustainable security.

Governor Agbu Kefas, described the joint meeting as a demonstration of both leaders’ firm commitment to ending the crisis.

He announced that a joint committee would be established to implement resolutions reached at the meeting and ensure sustained follow-up actions.

Also speaking, the Tor Tiv, Prof James Ayatse, emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence between the people of Taraba and Benue, urging stakeholders to prioritise dialogue and unity.

In his remarks, the Aku Uka expressed optimism that the deliberations would yield meaningful outcomes and prayed for enduring peace in the affected communities.
