100 Days in office: Taraba Council Boss Bags 2026 Newspointer Transformation Leadership Award

The Chairman of Bali Local Government Council in Taraba State, Hon. Habila Bala Balasa, has been honoured with the Newspointer Transformation Leadership Award 2026 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to grassroots development.

The award was presented on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Bali Local Government Secretariat during a brief ceremony attended by top council officials, traditional rulers, community leaders and other key stakeholders.

Presenting the award, the Managing Editor of The Newspointer, Chief Ben-Adaji, said the honour was in acknowledgement of Hon. Balasa’s commitment to transparency, inclusive governance and impactful leadership in Bali Local Government Area within 100 days in office.

Chief Ben-Adaji explained that the Transformation Leadership Award was instituted to recognise public office holders who have demonstrated measurable progress and unwavering dedication to improving the welfare of their people.

According to him, the selection process followed a careful and independent assessment by the organisation’s editorial board, which considered performance indicators, community impact and leadership style.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Habila Bala Balasa expressed profound gratitude to the management of The Newspointer Ltd. for the recognition, describing the award as a motivation to do more.

He dedicated the honour to the people of Bali Local Government Area and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining ongoing developmental projects and delivering more dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

Stakeholders at the event described the recognition as well deserved, noting that the chairman’s leadership has brought visible improvements across several sectors in the local government area within his 100 days in office.
