Mass communication students of Taraba Poly won prose writing, spoken poetry competition for the fifth 9Time

Two Mass communication students of Taraba state Polytechnic,Anna Dauda and Amarachi Alorie have won for the fifth time Poetry speaking and prose writing competition at the North East Festival of literature culture creativity and sciences held at Gombe state University,Gombe recently.
The Students,took first positions during this year’s edition of the competition and because winners for fifth time out of other competitors from Tertiary institutions in the North East region.
Dr Mike Dio Jen,the state commissioner of Tertiary Education,lauded the two students for the outstanding performance at the competition for the period of five years and emerging top position for the fifth time 
He said in a remark when the two winning students were presented to him in his office by the Rector Taraba state Polytechnic Dr Agbu Amos Danlami that the two Mass communication students had made Taraba state Polytechnic and the state proud.
The commissioner explained that the performance of the two two Mass communication students was a testimony of the quality of education being impacted by the institution to their students.
He said administration of governor Agbu Kefas has attached top priority to education at all levels and further expressed appreciation to the students, that huge investment the state  government  was making in education sector is yielding results.

The Rector of the Polytechnic,Dr. Amos Danlami,in his address, said the two students of Mass communication, of the Polytechnic have reaffirmed their dominance in creative and literary contests as they again  clinched top positions at the 5th North East Festival of Literature , Culture, Creativity and Sciences (NEFLICCS 2025)   in Gombe State.
He explained that the  institution  has again maintained  its dominance  in Prose Writing and spoken word poetry rendition,  sustaining   its record of winning top positions from 2021 to 2025. 

The Head of Mass communication department, of the institution, Linus Ngautem, while highlighting the event,said  Amarachi Alozie, a Mass Communication student, clinched the 1st Position in  Prose Writing (Senior Category), carpeting over seven tough writers from different universities in the North  East. 

He stated further that  Anna Dauda, a talented spoken-word poet also a mass communication student also secured the 3rd Position in a fierce stage battle of Spoken Word Poetic Rendition,  Competing against 28 participants drawn from several tertiary institutions in the North East.

He said  emergence of Anna Dauda as one of the top finalists has been described by  observers  as a highly competitive and creative showdown.

“Since its inception in 2021, the NEFLICCS programme initiated by the Halima Factor Community Initiative, a Gombe-based non-governmental organization—has continued to provide the  platform for young creatives to showcase their talents in different genres of literature, with an addition if scientific exhibition and AI Innovations this year.” he said 

Linus Ngautem, disclosed that with these achievements, Taraba State Polytechnic continues to cement its reputation as a force in academic and creative excellence in Tertiary institutions in the North East region.
