Governor, Agbu Kefas, has flagged off the construction of the 12-kilometre Takum–Lissam road, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to people-oriented development.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony at Lissam on Monday, Governor Kefas said with God, everything is possible, adding that God touched the hearts of the people to vote him into office.

He stressed that his government is in place solely to serve the people.

The governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to execute projects that directly impact the lives of citizens, noting that he takes time to plan, consult widely, and listen to the cries of the people before taking decisions.

Governor Kefas recalled that when he assumed office, Taraba State was deeply divided along religious and ethnic lines, warning that a divided people cannot make meaningful progress.

He stated that his primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of lives and property, emphasizing that security remains a top priority of his administration.

He urged the people of the state to continue praying for him and assured them that he would not be distracted from delivering good governance.

Earlier in his remarks, the Commissioner for Works Moseh Luka noted that the Ussa–Takum road was neglected by the previous administration but expressed confidence that the intervention by Governor Kefas would ease the hardship faced by commuters and significantly boost economic activities in the area.

Speaking on behalf of WE China, the construction firm handling the project, Sunny Chene thanked the Taraba State Government for its support.

He disclosed that the company has previously executed projects in parts of the state, including Wukari and Gassol Local Government Areas.

He assured that the company would deliver quality work and also carry out its corporate social responsibilities to host communities.
