The Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, Barrister Umar Mohammed Bangari, has received the 2025 Citizen of Impact Award from Newspointer Nigeria Newspaper Ltd, in recognition of his contributions to public service and national development.
The 2025 award, according to the organiser, is part of Newspointer’s annual initiative to honour individuals whose professional conduct, leadership, and community engagement have produced measurable positive impact on society.
Bangari was recognised for his role in strengthening administrative efficiency and professionalism within the Court of Appeal, where his leadership has contributed to improved service delivery and institutional effectiveness.
Beyond his official responsibilities, the Chief Registrar was also commended for his commitment to grassroots development, particularly in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Through various personal and community-based interventions, Bangari has supported initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and improving access to basic social needs for vulnerable and underserved populations.
These efforts, observers noted, have helped bring development to the doorstep of the poor, complementing government initiatives and promoting inclusive growth across communities in Taraba State.
Presenting the 2025 award, the management of Newspointer Nigeria Newspaper Ltd said Bangari’s record of integrity, professionalism, and humanitarian service distinguished him among this year’s honourees.
Other awardees are Hon. Mohammed J. Umar, Executive Chairman, Sardauna Local Government Council, Award of Excellence in Grassroots Development: in recognition of his exemplary leadership, commitment to grassroots development, and impactful initiatives that have improved the welfare and sustainable growth of communities across Sardauna Local Government Area.
Alhaji Sale Abubakar Dule, His Royal Highness, the Acting Mbondua of Mbamnga Chiefdom, Award of Excellence in Traditional Leadership and Cultural Preservation for exemplary traditional leadership, cultural preservation, and devoted service to the people of Mbamnga.
In his response, Bangari expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to public service, the administration of justice, and continued support for initiatives that uplift the less privileged.
